At the award ceremony, Coach Tasleem said,
“This trophy symbolizes the fortitude of one girl,
Melia. She was able to use her strong mind
to overcome great adversity. I don’t just mean
the hurdles that she jumped over, but also the
hurdles that her team put in front of her by not
accepting her. If not for her fortitude, our team
would have never received this trophy!”
